Linyi First Water Treatment Plant was commenced operation in September 2010, with a water supply capacity of 300,000 tons per day. Over time, the civil engineering structures within the plant have aged, and the equipment, valves, pipelines, and control systems have suffered varying degrees of corrosion, leakage, and damage. This has increased the frequency of equipment repairs, reduced the efficiency of plant operations and management, and even impacted water production capacity. Additionally, the original chlorine dioxide disinfection system posed higher risks compared to other disinfection methods, making plant renovation necessary.

Linyi First Water Treatment Plant Renovation Project began in 2022. This project involves upgrading pipelines, equipment, roads, power distribution, chemical dosing and disinfection systems, and automation systems. The scope of the project covers five key areas: the water intake, coagulation and sedimentation tanks, filter tanks and backwash pump room, dosing system, and public service facilities.

The reconstruction project of the plant in 2022 implemented an advanced sodium hypochlorite generator system, which offers several advantages: 1) High safety, with multiple measures ensuring the safety of the hydrogen discharge system; 2) Excellent energy efficiency, as it does not require electricity to prepare a stable concentration of dilute saltwater, and heating and cooling process consumes the low energy, achieving significant energy savings compared to similar products; 3) High automation, eliminating the need for long-term manual supervision; 4) Remote diagnostic services, which, with customer permission, could collect equipment operating status information to the cloud, allowing professional technical personnel to regularly check the equipment's operating conditions and assist users in maintenance. The operating status can also be connected to the user’s networked devices for convenient monitoring at any time.

Since its commissioning in July 2022, the plant’s equipment has been operating stably, and the water quality has consistently met the standards.
